Apple’s rumours ending: iPad
28th January 2010 | Posted by Simon
After months of on and offline gossip and speculation, Apple has finally unveiled its latest computer:the new tablet-style iPad.
Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs claims the 9.7- inch screened device is “a magical third category of product between smartphone and laptop”. Most reviews are comparing it though, to be as a bigger iPhone: it allows users to surf the net, play games, read emails, watch movies and run programs from Apple's App Store.
The touch-screen machine comes with an innovative version of iWork: pages, numbers and keynote, word processor, spreadsheet and presentation software have indeed been rebuilt for the iPad interface. However, the new gaming functions provided by Gameloft and the new iBook Store application are more likely to be the innovations that convince consumers this time.
From now on it will be who decide whether it can provide a revolutionary experience that fills the gap between smartphone and laptop.
